Owned and operated for nearly three decades by pharmacist Hillis Hugelen and his wife, Jean, Velva Drug is now in the hands of new owners, Bonnie Thom and Megan Krueger. This mother-daughter pharmacist team took over ownership of the store in 2001, and Velva residents are thrilled! We know that these two hometown ladies will carry on the tradition of excellence that has been associated with Velva Drug for almost 100 years.

Since taking over ownership, these two enterprising business leaders have made numerous updates and improvements to the store. Aside from remodeling, Bonnie and Megan also offer new pharmacy and health services, online insurance filing and several new gift lines.

This spacious, modern store is a mecca for local shoppers, featuring not only prescriptions, but Hallmark™ cards, gifts and collectibles; Pride of Dakota products, hundreds of gift items, cosmetics, baby items, Russell Stover™ candy, jewelry, small electronics and other goodies too numerous to mention. This Main Street business attracts all kinds of shoppers with its wide variety of gift items, from picture frames to Bridgewater scented candles. Whether it's a sweet treat, a remedy for the latest malady, a gift or a greeting card, Velva Drug has it!
